Event organizers are throwing a benefit for David Wandke, a 1973 Greenfield High School graduate who was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney cancer in August.

The event is from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at The Patio, 1421 E. Howard Ave., Milwaukee

There will be raffles, a silent auction food, cash bar, live music and karaoke and more. Attendees are asked to pay a $5 donation at the door.

People can also make monetary donations on the Indiegogo website. Money raised will help offset the Wandkes' mounting medical bills.

Wandke and his wife Carrie own a small plumbing business in Peshtigo, Wis. You can read more about the Wandkes on CaringBridge.com. Contact Denise Wandke at 414-688-5885 or Ruth Rowland at 414-731-0638 for more information about the fundraiser.

This is a great way to help out someone in the community. It is a sad time but giving him this will help brighten his spirits!
