The MECA Wisconsin Police Canine Vest Foundation, Inc. in partnership with Fox Sports Network, announced its second annual MECA Vest A K-9 Fest will be held on Saturday, July 20.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals.

Milwaukee Brewers catcher Martin Maldonado will be part of the event for a second straight year.

“I am honored to help support and raise awareness for the MECA Foundation which is a great cause and an important necessity in keeping our police dogs and our communities safe," Maldonado said in a statement.

Last year the organization raised more than $30,000 at the event, money used to fund the protection of police dogs with bullet-resistant and stab-proof vests as well as to assist police departments with the purchase of new police dogs.
