Chick-fil-A Possibly Coming to Southridge Area
Chick-fil-A would join new restaurants Longhorn Steakhouse and Panda Express on the 76th Street corridor.
If Greenfield residents are in the mood for chicken, all they'll have to do is cross the road.
Edgerton Avenue, that is. Chick-fil-A has submitted plans to build a restaurant on one of the south outlots in front of the under-construction Walmart on 76th Street.
The Greendale Village Board will review the application on Tuesday and likely refer it to the Planning Commission.
Following last year's announcement of a $52 million Southridge Mall renovation, a number of new restaurants and businesses have announced plans to open on the 76th street corridor.
Panda Express and a proposed Longhorn Steakhouse will be built alongside each other at the old Leath Furniture location. Designer Shoe Warehouse will open at the former Borders building in March of 2013.
Wisconsin's only other Chick-fil-A is in Racine. The company received national attention recently after the restaurant chain president expressed his opposition to gay marriage.

Man, I would've been excited for this announcement had I just not read this tweet earlier today:
@EatThisNotThat: SILLY SANDWICH: Chick-fil-A's Chicken Sandwich contains a silicone-based antifoaming agent also found in Silly Putty and shampoo!
