Many Milwaukee teachers and principals will get a chance this month to “work” a shift behind the counter at McDonald’s and raise money for their schools.
The educators are taking part in a McTeacher’s Night fundraiser, a special evening that gives schools the opportunity to raise funds for programs, equipment and any other special projects for the school. Schools are rewarded with a percentage of all sales generated during the program’s three-hour period from 5-8 p.m.
Starting November 12, more than 75 McTeacher’s Nights are planned throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Greenfield's McDonald's, 4275 S. 27th St., will host McTeacher Nights on Nov. 27 for Edgewood Elementary and Jan. 22 for Lowell Elementary in Milwaukee.
“We are proud to support McTeacher’s Night for our local schools,” said Robert Pyles, owner operator of 12 restaurants and president of the cooperative of 124 McDonald’s Restaurants throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. “It’s a great fundraising opportunity, and kids love the chance to give orders to their teachers for a change.”
