'Generation Alive' Dance Team Enters Second Season
The unique, co-ed precision pom pon dance team is looking for new team members. Practice begins Sept. 16 at Greenfield's YMCA.
“Generation Alive” is a unique, coed precision “pom pon” dance team that is exciting and exemplifies the fact that you’re never too old to have fun and perform for an audience.
The energetic routines are created by an award-winning professional choreographer, and the members of Generation Alive range in age from 45 to 70 years and many of the dancers have previous dance team and/or dance instructor experience.
In their first year, Generation Alive Dance Team members appeared on the TMJ4 Morning Blend and Fox6 Wakeup shows, performed two routines for the Miss West Allis / Miss New Berlin Pageant, performed two routines for the Racine Raiders home opener, danced our way through the Memorial Day Parade in Milwaukee, and performed routines at two Milwaukee Wave games.
Generation Alive enters its second season on Sept. 16, with its first practice session scheduled for 6-8 p.m. at the Southwest YMCA, 11311 W. Howard Ave.
Generation Alive has an open invitation for individuals interested to attend practices and join in the fun or simply observe, and the team is always looking to add members. No audition or previous dance experience is required, only enthusiasm, a big smile, team commitment and love to dance.
The Generation Alive Dance Team season runs September through June.
The Generation Alive Dance Team is currently putting together its performance schedule for the 2012- 2013 season and has already been booked to perform at the home opener for the World Champion Milwaukee Wave indoor soccer team.
