Greenfield Likely to Name Interim Superintendent Monday
The district conducted interviews Friday and could have a new temporary leader starting this week.
By Monday night, the Greenfield School District should have a new interim superintendent in place.
The Greenfield School Board will debate the merits of several candidates at a special board meeting Monday, March 4, three days after board members interviewed candidates to replace Conrad Farner, who resigned in January.
The interim superintendent will be in place through the remainder of the school year.
Most of Monday's meeting will be held in closed session beginning at 6:30 p.m. In closed session, the board will also talk with get an update on the search for a permanent replacement for Farner.
The meeting is expected to convene to open session betwen 8-8:30 p.m.

Feb. 26: On a night when the Greenfield School Board approved the contract for an interim business director, the district said an interim superintendent would soon follow.
Director of Educational Services Todd Bugnacki said the Board will be interviewing candidates within the next few days and an interim superintendent should be named within the week.
Applications for the permanent superintendent opening, created when Conrad Farner resigned earlier this year, will be accepted through March 18. Earlier this month the Board hired the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to conduct a search for candidates, and last week the WASB gathered input from stakeholders at a series of focus groups.
The Board is expected to meet with the firm again, likely March 4, to go over the results of the focus groups.
On Monday, the Board approved the contract of Ronald Nortier to replace Kristin Kollath as the interim business director for the remainder of the 2012-13 school year. The move allows the new superintendent to choose a permanent replacement for that position at a later date.
