Greenfield High School Names Jack Miller Boys Basketball Coach

Longtime softball coach and former girls basketball coach Jack Miller will take over the program.

Longtime Greenfield softball coach Jack Miller has been chosen to take over the Greenfield High School boys basketball program, according to Greenfield NOW sports writer John Rech.

According to Rech, Miller was chosen out of 33 applicants to replace interim head coach Ed Mermolia, who took over the program from Jim Nowak when Nowak resigned due to health reasons a few weeks into the 2010-11 season.

Miller is one of the area's winningest softball coaches and has led the Hustlin' Hawks to the WIAA Division 1 State Softball Tournament three times. He also helped turnaround a struggling girls basketball program during his tenure from 2002-07.

Here is the news release from the Greenfield School District regarding the hire.
