Greenfield Schools Benefit from Another Walmart Donation

The city's new Walmart Supercenter donated more than 1,000 school supply items to Greenfield Middle School.

For the second time in less than three months, the new Walmart Supercenter, 10600 W. Layton Ave., has made a sizeable donation to the Greenfield School District.

The Greenfield Middle School will receive more than 1,000 school supply items from the store, after the Greenfield School Board approved the donation request Monday.

The exact value of the donation is not known, but the supplies donated were:

  • 103 packages of pens;
  • 2 packages of glow sand;
  • 96 binder pouces
  • 1 pack of file folders;
  • 24 three-subject notebooks
  • 135 calculators;
  • 418 jumbo book covers;
  • 280 cloth book covers;
  • 1 package of staples;
  • 80 pencil sharpeners;
  • 43 mini-staplers

In September, Walmart representatives delivered $1,000 in gift cards for teachers to use on supplies and snacks as well as $8,500 worth of school supplies to Elm Dale Elementary School principal Christine Brzycki.
