Conatty led with a 42. Hensiak 45, Cancilla 48, Henckel and Piekarski 49 completed the team scoring.

Andrew Knoll of New Berlin West led all golfers with a 36.

Thursday, May 10, was the opening round of the Woodland Conference tournament, a 27-hole tournament held on two separate days at two separate courses.

The Broadlands was the site for the first 9 holes of play. Both divisions of the conference participate in this annual event.

The Hawks finished the day in sixth-place after shooting a score of 178. Conatty continued playing some of his best golf, shooting a solid round of 40 leaving him tied for third after one day. Henckel 44, Cody Hagfors 46, Piekarski 48, and Hensiak 46 rounded out the team score.

The scores from this event will be added to the scores from the 18 hole event held at Washington County to determine the tournament winner. Nick, unfortunately, will not be able to play in the 18-hole portion of the tournament which means the remaining players will need to pick up the slack for his absence. Our goal is to catch a couple of the teams in front of us an move up in the standings.

On Friday, May 11, the team traveled to the Castle Course at Northern Bay, for the Adams Friendship Invite. The kids were looking forward to this trip as Northern Bay is known for being a very good course with 9 replica holes of famous holes from the PGA tour. Some of the replica holes include the par 5 13th hole and par 3 16th hole from Augusta National GC; the par 4 18th hole from Bay Hill GC; and the famous par 3 17th island hole from Sawgrass.

The team did very well, placing second behind a very good Verona HS golf team. Conatty had his high school-best 77 placing him third, one stroke out of a tie for first place on the individual side. Mike Hensiak 86, Alec Piekarski and Cody Hagfors 97, and Chris Henckel 104 rounded out the scoring for the Hawks.

The season is beginning to wind down. This week the Hawks will play at Washington County GC as the 27-hole conference tournament concludes. On Wednesday, May 23, the Hawks will be hosting the Regional tournament at The Broadlands. Tuesday, May 29 is the date for sectionals.
