School administrator salaries in the Greenfield and Whitnall school districts are largely in line with nearby communities, according to data compiled by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Greenfield Superintendent Conrad Farner was paid $141,072, in the bottom third among all Woodland Conference district administrators, while Whitnall Superintendent Lowell Holtz earned $153,135, second only to Greendale's William Hughes' $163,256.
The numbers are from salary information released on the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's website. The data is from the 2011-12 school year.
School districts across the state saw a larger than usual cut in staffing in the 2011-12 school year than in year's past, according to a press release from the DPI, with 2,312 positions being eliminated and 60 percent of those spots being teacher jobs.
"The 2011-13 state budget made historically high cuts to education funding," the press release said. "General school aids were cut by $749 million and the per pupil revenue limit was reduced by $1.6 billion from prior law. These large reductions accelerated the budget and staffing cuts many districts have been making over the years."

Does anyone know if superintendents were a 9 month a year schedule like teachers or if they continue to work 40 hours a week during the summer?

The superintendents work 40+hrs a week, all year. Not the same contract as a teacher.

Just because they work 40+ hours per week does not mean they are effective....

Well I like to give people the benefit of the doubt they do their job well but that is about $12,500 a month to sit behind a desk! That is twice as much as occupations that risk their lives for our safety and fire dept personnel that make split second decisions for our health. Not taking anything away from school district employees but that is a lot of money when put in perspective.

Wow this is surprising. Kollath Kristin Business Manager $121,213.00 This is a job that is HIGHLY overpaid. Especially when HR cannot handle the day to day duties correctly.

I know that they work hard and contribute a lot but I don't know how I feel about how much money they make
