Man Caught With Pills He Planned to Steal From Friend
Daniel Lee Casarez had a pill container on his key chain when the woman was pulled over by a Greenfield police officer Monday morning.
A 29-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he was caught allegedly holding four pills he planned to steal from a woman who was driving him around.
Daniel Lee Casarez was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with one count of possession of a narcotic drug. If convicted, he faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
At 1:35 a.m. Monday, a Greenfield police officer pulled over a Ford Crown Victoria in the 5500 block of South 27th Street after he discovered a woman driving the car had a suspended license. When the officer approached the car, he noticed Casarez sitting in the passenger seat with a container used for concealing drugs on his keychain.
The officer called for a K9 unit, which alerted there were drugs in the car. The two were ordered out of the car. It was searched and the officer found the pill container now in the back seat with four Roxicodone pills inside.
Casarez admitted to throwing the container into the back seat. He said the pills belonged to the driver and he was planning to steal them from her after finding them in the car.
He’s currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on a $500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
