Man Impersonates Officer, Tries to Pull Over Unmarked Greenfield Squad Car

The officer was driving a Ford Taurus down Forest Home Avenue on Monday.

 

A bad decision coupled with some bad luck has a Milwaukee man in hot water Tuesday.

The 34-year-old was arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer after he and a companion in a retired squad car attempted to “pull over” another driver in a Ford Taurus on Forest Home Avenue in Greenfield yesterday afternoon.

And just who was driving the Taurus? An on-duty Greenfield police detective who was driving an unmarked squad car.

The retired squad was equipped with strobe lights inside the front and rear tail lamps, a spot lamp and antennas on the trunk, according to the department’s Facebook page. The car also had a Transformers logo on the grill.

According to Chief Brad Wentlandt, the officer in the unmarked car passed the retired squad car, a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, and when he, the fake officer put on his flashing lights. The real officer slowed, and when the Crown Victoria pulled ahead of him, the real officer pulled them over.

Impersonating a police officer is a misdemeanor with a penalty of up to one year in jail.

“That’s not a joking manner,” Wentlandt said. “There are a good number of retired squad cars out there. The vast majority of them end up being taxis. Rarely do people use them to pull someone over.”

The mother of my child has taken my son & refuses to let me me see him. If she has the right to be with him then so do I pursuant to the 14th amendment, if she does not have that right then why is my son with her? I have all the documents proving I am his father.
This is a DIRECT VIOLATION of the 14th amendment.
ALL PERSONS born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the EQUAL PROTECTION of the laws.

I have reported this crime to the Greenfield Police Department and they have refused to get a warrent .

It sounds to me as though these kids were just joking around.It doesn't sound to me like they were trying to act like police at all.The actual police officer pulled over, after seeing the emergency lights behind him but these characters kept on driving, and passed him while laughing. When it comes to common sense it seems that it goes both ways!When the police sell a car, it should be mandatory all emergency lights and sirens be removed by the police department before the sale is made. Quit wasting my tax money on lazy useless crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Police agencies don't sell old squads with equipment such as radio,siren,lights,radar etc. Anyone can get their hands on this kind of equipment on ebay and police supply stores.
