Cody O’Hearn was charged with sixth offense driving while intoxicated, a felony, in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on March 7.
A 28-year-old South Milwaukee man is accused of swerving recklessly and dangerously on busy Greenfield thoroughfares while under the influence of narcotic drugs.
Cody O’Hearn was charged with sixth offense driving while intoxicated, a felony, in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on March 7.
According to court records, on June 12, a witness called police and said he had been following O'Hearn since the intersection of South 108th Street and West Lincoln Avenue in West Allis. He said he saw O'Hearn’s vehicle swerving in and out of traffic, nearly strike multiple cars and hit the center median twice.
When O'Hearn made it all the way to Kopp’s, 7631 W. Layton Ave., he was observed jumping the curb when pulling into the parking lot.
O'Hearn failed field sobriety tests performed by a Greenfield police officer, and blood tests later indicated O'Hearn had Oxycodone and Alprazolam in his system.
O'Hearn has past OWI-related offenses in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2010 and 2012.
If convicted again, he faces a maximum of six years of imprisonment and $10,000 in fines and could have his operating privileges revoked for several years. O'Hearn, if convicted, could also be requires to drive vehicles with an ignition interlock device.
It is unclear in the complaint why eight months passed between the incident and the charges being filed.

I think this man should be faced with even more serious charges for his countless violations. He's putting the lives of the entire community and that should not be acceptable to society. Since the current punishments are not effectively changing his behavior, I think he should be receiving more immediate punishment.
