A 42-year-old Greenfield man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to hit his mom in the face, then later hid from police under a tarp in a van.
According to the criminal complaint:
The suspect, who isn’t being identified in order to protect the name of the victim, began to swear at his mom around 1:16 a.m. Sunday, inside their residence in the 8800 block of West Waterford Square North then attempted to hit her in the face. The woman got out of the way of his fist and was only grazed by the suspect.

Officers were called back to the residence at 5:03 a.m. and officers found the man hiding under a tarp inside a van.
According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the mom told police her son was a recovering heroin addict. When police searched his room, they allegedly found drug paraphernalia used for smoking narcotic drugs.
