Pawn America Coming to Greenfield Neighbor
The store that wanted to come to Greenfield in 2011, will open in West Allis on Feb. 1, according to a report.
Remember Pawn America, the big-box pawn shop Minnesota-based company that wanted to fill the old Circuit City / Ultimate Electronics building?
It has found a Milwaukee-area home, and not too far from Greenfield.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Thursday the pawn shop was taking up residence at 7530 W. Lincoln Ave. in West Allis.
The store is set to open Feb. 1.
Back in June 2011, Pawn America's proposal to move to Greenfield was turned down by a 3-2 Common Council vote when some alderpersons and the Greenfield Police Department raised concerns about what kind of transactions would take place at the pawn shop.
Last August, hhgregg finished its renovations of the former Ultimate Electronics building, 4585 S. 76th St., and opened one of five Wisconsin locations.
What do you think? Would you rather have had Pawn America or hhgregg?
