Which Memorial Day Festivities are You Going To?
From Dan Jansen Family Fest to the annual Memorial Day tribute at Bicentennial Park, there's something for everyone this weekend.
From touching tributes to rock bands, Greenfield offers a wide variety of Memorial Day weekend events.
The city's Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Bicentennial Park, 5300 W. Layton Ave., at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 27.
The event will feature a free lunch and a special awards ceremony that will have a surprise guest of honor.
Other highlights will include the poem A Soldier Died Today read by former alderman Donald Almquist, a performance by the Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps and a 21-gun salute and taps by American Legion Post 18.
Also on Sunday, the new War Memorial in Hales Corners, will be dedicated during a day-long celebration.
Starting at 5 p.m. Friday, the three-day Dan Jansen Family Fest (four if you count the rides-only Monday) kicks off with carnival rides, live music and more food options than you can shake a stick at.
On Monday, at Arlington Park Cemetery, there will be a Memorial Day observance that has honored deceased veterans for more than 65 years.
And looking for something to do Monday with the kids? Let the kids burn off the last bit of that three-day weekend energy at Bounce Realm.
