Renovation of Library Into a Community Center to Begin Soon
Project reaches donation goal with $20,000 check from Sendik's Food Market.
Ted Balistreri, owner of Sendik’s Food Market, presented a check for $20,000 at a special Common Council meeting Jan. 26, as part of the fundraising effort for the renovation of the Greenfield Community Center.
During the next few months, the Greenfield Community Center will undergo a transformation from a vacant building to a versatile community asset that will serve as the hub of recreation and social programs for the City of Greenfield serving residents of all ages throughout the year. The planned improvements will modify the existing vacant library building to maximize use of the rooms for programs and create opportunities for attractive rental space.
Funding for the renovation of the Community Center project has relied on the generous support of donors such as Dan Jansen Family Fest, Inc., The Partners of Parks & Recreation, Inc, Sendik’s Food Market along with the 130-plus other individuals and businesses who have supported this important community project to date.
Fundraising is ongoing. Multiple levels of support/donations are appreciated. Any individual or business wishing to participate or seeking more information, including naming right opportunities, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department during regular business hours Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. 414-329-5370.
