Whitnall School Board member Suzette Larson resigned her position about half a year before her term was set to expire, according to board president Nancy Zaborowski.

Zaborowski told board members Monday that she received an email from Larson on Sunday announcing her resignation effective immediately.

No reason was given for Larson’s departure.

Larson, the board’s clerk, had been a board member since 2004. Her term was set to expire in April 2013.

Zaborowski said the board would likely appoint an interim clerk at the next meeting. The board will also have to decide how it wishes to proceed in filling the vacancy.

Over the summer, the Greenfield School Board had to replace a member mid-term.
