Time's Up: Winter's Back
After near-record high temps and an above average season, it appears that the party's over. Don't be caught off guard.
Tuesday and Wednesday, it's likely many of you opted for the lighter jacket or sweatshirt when you stepped outdoors, and with temperatures flirting with 50, why not?
However, those salad days are coming to an abrupt end as a combination of low pressure systems have finally found our corner of Wisconsin, and will bring 3-6" of snow. The National Weather Service is issuing a winter weather advisory to be in effect from Thursday morning to Friday morning.
Snowfall during Thursday is expected to start around 7am with heavier amounts falling later during the day, and continuing overnight. The event will take longer than most 'hit-and-run' storms, which has forecasters estimating 2-4" during the daylight hours of Thursday and another 1-2" Thursday night into Friday.
Blowing and drifting are expected late Thursday as well to make driving hazardous. Before you head out check out these links:

While it's a rude awakening, it's also a sign that we've had it easy...high temperatures are predicted to 'plummet,' but are still less than 5 degrees below the normal temps of 29 for January, and the extended forecast shows us revisiting the 30s over the weekend.

Nooooo! I loved our not-so-winter weather. I'm trying to recapture that "Oh, isn't it pretty" feeling of when the snow first falls, but ... it's just not happening. Is it June yet?

I agree Heather. I can't wait until June.

We had flowers blooming in pots - I (mistakenly) thought the weather was turning so I pulled them out two weeks ago. *sniffle* I wish I would have left them at least until today!
