Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke is getting lots of attention for his pro-gun public service announcement urging people to take up arms in case law enforcement can't arrive fast enough.

But Greenfield police said the fear tactics Clarke laid out—furloughs and lay-offs—aren't happening here, and that owning a firearm should be a personal and private decision.

People commented on our article about the difference of opinions between the law enforcement professionals, lining up on both sides themselves.

But Darrel said: Sheriff Clarke is my hero. He is one of the few community leaders to have comon sense.
