Woman Calls 911 to Save Boyfriend, Gets Arrested

She told police he had a reaction to a medicated patch he was helping put on her back. Her boyfriend told police something entirely different.

A 33-year-old Greenfield woman had no problems trying to save herself from an arrest after she saved her 40-year-old boyfriend from a drug overdose.

According to the Greenfield Police Department report, the woman called 911 just before 12:45 a.m. Feb. 4, and told dispatchers her boyfriend was on his knees, gasping for breath and had a blue tint to his lips in the couple’s home in the 3500 block of South 34th Street.

The woman told police her boyfriend had been drinking and earlier had assisted her in putting a Fentanyl patch on her back. She said she was prescribed the patch, which is often used for chronic pain management. She said her boyfriend had trouble applying the patch on her back and believed his reaction was a result of the patch coming into contact with his skin.

But it turns out there was much more to the story than the girlfriend initially divulged.

Greenfield paramedics told police the man’s condition was a drug overdose, and not caused by the circumstances the woman described.

Paramedics also found a crack pipe in the man’s pocket, and officers found multiple pieces of aluminum used to cook drugs in their home, and straws used to smoke them were found in the couple’s common sleeping area. Police then arrested the woman for possession of drug paraphernalia.

While in the hospital, and well enough to give a statement, the man told police he had smoked the Fentanyl patch by placing it on aluminum foil, lighting it from underneath and using a straw to smoke it. He told police he had never done it before and that it was his girlfriend’s idea. He was arrested for possession of a Schedule II narcotic.

As for the crack pipe found in his jeans, he told police he smoked cracked years ago and that it must have been in his jeans for a long time.

It seems a little suspicious that the guy claimed to have had the crack pipe in this jeans for "a long time". I feel as though he's worn them since he quit smoking crack and could've easily gotten rid of it.

Do you really think so? There is critical information missing from the article that would tend to support or refute your idea, for instance,: the number of pairs of jeans he has, whether he wears jeans every day, how long is a long time, and so forth. A logician would not take your theory as apodictic from the facts that are given; nevertheless, as a first approximation to ultimate truth, it should be considered.

Smoking a Fentanyl path is a new one on me. My doctor prescribed The Patch when I was trying to quit smoking cigarettes, but I couldn't keep it lit.

There was an old saying that If jeans are not washed for a long time, they will walk away by themselves. That would have been missing evidence.

OMG...I have two rolls of foil in my "common cooking area" (kitchen)...regular and heavy duty. I use them for smoking turkeys... amongst other things.

I find it a little ironic that she tried saving her boyfriend and ends up going to jail for it, but they both did illegal things and deserve to go to jail for doing what they did.
