Your Guide to Summertime Events, and So Much More

School's out for summer, and there is plenty for you and your family to do in and around Greenfield. From great citywide events to local hot spots, there's something for everyone.

The temperatures are getting hotter and the kids are out of school.

If you haven't started already it's time to plan out your summer, and Greenfield Patch is here to help.

We've put together a list of some of the great events that are happening right here in Greenfield, starting later this month!

Movies in the Park

The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department will be showing three family-friendly films on 12-foot screens three times this summer, right in Konkel Park, starting June 30 with Puss & Boots at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The other movies are The Muppets at 8:30 p.m. July 28, and The Adventures of Tintin at 8 p.m. Aug. 18.

Fourth of July Celebration

Get ready to spend your day celebrating our nation's independence at the city's daylong event at Konkel Park, thanks to the Partners of Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

The festival grounds open at 11 a.m. and don't close until 11 p.m.! There will be a parade at 12:15 p.m., featuring the University of Wisconsin 5th Quarter Band, Bucky Badger and so much more.

Then, back at Konkel Park, stop by for great demonstrations, contests and live music before the fireworks spectacular at 9:30 p.m.

Camping at Konkel

No need to pack up all your camping gear and drive for hours. Throw your stuff in the car and head to Konkel Park July 28-29.

Set-up is 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, and take-down is 9 a.m. Sunday, July 29.

The event, hosted by the city's Parks & Recreation Department, costs $20 per family of five and $5 for each additional person (residents only).

Call the parks department at 414-329-5370 to register or for more details.

National Night Out

National Night Out is two months away, but it will be here before you know it.

The event, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 7, at Konkel Park, is put on cooperatively by the city's police, fire, parks and recreation, health and public works departments.

The event includes a free hotdog or brat, chips and soft drink, K-9 Unit demonstration, the Klement's Racing Sausages and a whole lot more.

In addition to great event, there's plenty to do on any given day throughout Greenfield.
