Children and their families around Greenfield are looking forward to attending Movie Night at Edgerton Elementary to raise money for the school Nov. 30.
The doors open at 6:15 pm and the movie will begin at 7 pm.
This year, Madagascar 3 will be shown on the big screen. Children can bring their own blankets, flashlights, pajamas, and sleeping bags to take part in this exciting event.
All-you-can-eat popcorn will be available, along with drinks and candy, which will be offered for a small price. The cost to attend is five dollars per family, if pre-paid, and seven dollars at the door. Also available are raffles that families can enter for prizes.
Whitnall senior Leah Fleishman has two siblings that have attending the Movie Night at Edgerton in previous years.
“My sisters always have a lot of fun at the Movie Night," she said. "They think it's one big sleepover with all of their friends!”
The money that is raised will go to the Whitnall Parent Teacher Organization to fund activities. In the past, this money has been used to pay for field trips, book fairs, guest speakers, such as artists or book authors, playground equipment, and smart-boards for the classrooms.
In recently years, Movie Night has raised between $140 and $190. Heather Givich, who is the head of this fundraiser, says this is “more of a student and family appreciation event hosted by the PTO, so we keep the prices really low.”
Edgerton’s biggest fundraisers are the fall fundraiser and the Spring Dance, which takes place in February.
