On Oct. 26, 2012, the new 150,000-square-foot Walmart, 10600 W. Layton Ave., opened with a main purpose to serve the community.
The differences between the new and old Walmart include several upgrades. Some of the upgrades include a grocery store, expanded parking lot, and expanded space inside the store. Walmart's property and construction was very expensive ($7.4million to buy golfing range property).
"I would describe it as convenient," Whitnall senior Max Latus said of Walmart. "It's cheap and has a wide range of prices".
Even though they have low prices and a very wide range of products, Whitnall senior Olivia Fallon said "customer service would be a three out of 10. I never get offered help and I just see people wandering around looking clueless."
Though customer service might be lower then average to some high schoolers, a lot of other high school students love the wide range of products with the low prices.
Regardless of high school students' views on Walmart, it is currently a very busy and popular part of the community.

Too bad it has the same amount of crime as the old one.
