Basketry Basics

Alverno College, 3400 S 43rd St, Milwaukee, WI | Get Directions »
$40.00

Ever see a beautiful, hand-woven basket and wonder how it was constructed? Baskets are easy and fun to weave, and they make great gifts! In this workshop, you will use both reeds and non-traditional materials to create two small baskets using the twining method, a traditional basket-making technique. We will also discuss world basket-weaving traditions and view examples of creative and functional baskets.  No prior art experience is required, just a willingness to use your creativity while learning this “hands-on” craft technique. All supplies are provided.

Instructor: Kasia Drake-Hames, Owner, Artist & Instructor, KDH Art Studio
