Simple Self-Care Practices for Stress

Alverno College, 3400 S 43rd St, Milwaukee, WI | Get Directions »
$32.00

The stresses we experience in our everyday lives — especially during the holidays — can take a toll on us physically, emotionally and spiritually. Some frequent symptoms of stress are headaches, pain in the neck or shoulders, trouble sleeping and feeling fatigued, sad or anxious. We may find ourselves becoming critical, isolated or overwhelmed. In this class you will learn several simple self-care practices taught by CAPACITAR International in over thirty-five countries to people who have experienced traumatic stresses. They are designed to help alleviate the common symptoms of stress. Practice gentle tai chi movement, calming breath work, simple finger holds and much more. All the activities are flexible enough to accommodate men and women of all ages and physical abilities. Learn how to select the practices that feel best for your body so you can make them a part of your daily routine.

Instructor: Marjorie Wilbur, adjunct supervisor at the Spiritual Direction Preparation Program at the Franciscan Spirituality Center, La Crosse
