Stars, Shepherds and Kings: The Hidden Meanings of the Stories of Christmas

Alverno College, 3400 S 43rd St, Milwaukee, WI | Get Directions »
$32.00

Angels, shepherds, stars and magi — known popularly as kings — are all part of the gospel stories of Jesus’ birth known as the Infancy Narratives. These and other elements of the stories carry rich meanings that would have been apparent to their original audiences but are lost to us. In this class we will explore the two canonical Infancy Narratives of Matthew and Luke and take a brief look at some of the narratives found in the gospels that are not included in the Bible.

Instructor: Jim Gill, MA, Certified Spiritual Guide, SSND Associate, Director of Child Ministry at St. Mary Catholic Church, Waukesha

Note: This class qualifies for the following religious clock hours: Theology: Intermediate 2, Advanced 2; Maintenance: Intermediate 2, Advanced 2
