Alverno Presents – The Hinterlands: "The Circuit"

Alverno Presents is thrilled to bring The Hinterlands back to the Pitman Theatre this Friday and Saturday. Their newest work, “The Circuit,” is a left-of-center-high-octane-seize-no-prisoner take on Vaudeville, and it is both daringly physical and shockingly funny.

The Hinterlands is a Detroit-based company who creates genre-defying multidisciplinary performance works that radically re-imagine the relationship between spectator and performer. The company explores the art of performance through explosive and ecstatic training, and engages its local and global neighbors through direct collaboration and exchange.

“The Circuit” is the result of a two-year investigation of vaudeville, subculture and common culture. The project is funded in part through the National Performance Network Creation Fund, co-commissioned by partners Alverno Presents and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit.
