Alverno Presents and Milwaukee Film present – Altos: Earth

The first partnership between Alverno Presents and Milwaukee Film commissions Altos, a local rock collective known for their lush, genre-bending and cinematic compositions, to write and perform an original score to one of the most significant works in the history of European cinema, Earth.  Altos will perform their score live alongside the film at the Oriental Theatre for the centerpiece event of the Milwaukee Film Festival 2013 on Friday, October 4.

At first glance, Earth tells the classic story of boy meets tractor, boy loses tractor, and boy gets tractor and the greater glory of the Soviet Republic.  But at its heart, the film is an examination of nature’s cycles of death and rebirth.
