Greenfield School Board Meetings Cancelled

The School District of Greenfield, Monday, January 27, 2014 Special Board Meeting of the Electorate and School Board Meeting have been postponed until Feb. 10 at 6 PM and 6:30 PM respectively.

The purpose of the Special Meeting is to seek the authorization of qualified electors to sell and swap the former Chapman School Property located at 8500 W. Chapman Ave.

According to School Board President Bruce Bailey, “The District has received several calls regarding the Special Meeting of the Electorate and the Board of Education Meeting this evening.  Due to the fact that the Greenfield Board of Education values citizen participation and tonight’s bitterly cold weather is not conducive to a strong voter turnout, the Special Meeting of the Electorate and the Board of Education will be rescheduled for February 10, 2014.  The Board of Education wants the public to know their vote is important and we are rescheduling in hopes of encouraging better participation on a night that is not so bitterly cold.”

Superintendent Lisa Elliott added, “There were concerns that the voters would not come to the meeting due to the fact that the schools are closed today and will be closed tomorrow due to the frigid temperatures.”
