Whitnall Boys Basketball Regional Tournament Game is Tonight

Tonight, Whitnall takes on Milwaukee Bay View in a WIAA regional basketball game.

Tonight, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. the Whitnall varsity boys basketball team plays Milwaukee Bay View at Bay View, to see if the Falcons can advance in the state tournament.

This year's varsity boys team is different from previous years. The biggest difference is probably the coaching. After Ken Kroupa's 18 years coaching, he decided to resign, giving the opportunity to coach to Steve Kujawa.

"Coach Kujawa is awesome," Whitnall senior Brandon Kurta said. "In class he teaches pretty well, so I imagine he can coach a team well, too".

Even though it was Kujawa's first year, there was a lot of pressure to do well right from the beginning of the season. Not only was there pressure on him, but there also was a lot of pressure on the players.

"There's a lot of pressure," Whitnall junior basketball player said. "It's a win or go home situation, so we need to win."

Included with the pressure of a win-or-go-home game, there is also a lot of pressure on the seniors to do well in what could be their last high school game.

Finally, the winner of tonight's game goes up against the winner of the Waukesha North-New Berlin Eisenhower game.
