Strong Winds, Heavy Rains Go Through Area; Some Power Outages

A severe weather advisory is in effect until 9 a.m.

For those of you who have been praying for rain, here you go.

After the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of Southeastern Wisconsin until 9 a.m. Monday, the rains came fast and furiously.

Warm and humid weather contrasting with an approaching cold front, which will usher in lower temperatures for Tuesday, made conditions ripe for the development of strong and severe thunderstorms.

The storms produced high winds and heavy downpours and knocked power out across the region, though, according to We Energies outage map, only a few Greenfield customers were without power at 9 a.m.
