Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens invites families and friends to Easter at Boerner, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday at Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive. Children will be able to meet the Easter Bunny up close and personal, make some festive holiday crafts, and even get a balloon animal from Miss Sparkle the Clown. Event fee is $6 per child. Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab-Milwaukee, 5700 W Layton Ave, 9:30 a.m. There will be lots of eggs and candy, games and prizes and of course the Easter Bunny will be there. No charge for this event.

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 West Cold Spring Rd., 7 p.m. Mass of the Lord's Supper.

Good Friday Services

Adoration Lutheran Church, 3840 Edgerton Rd., 7 p.m. Focusing on the greatest love revealed by the greatest of sacrifices.

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 West Cold Spring Rd., 1 p.m.

Easter Services

Adoration Lutheran Church, 3840 Edgerton Rd., 7 p.m. Saturday - East Candlelight Vigil, focusing on the passage of Christ from darkness to light; 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. services on Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of Christ and the renewal of life.

  • The Men's Bible Group will be hosting the Easter Sunday Breakfast at 7:30 AM between the two worship services.Β  Also, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children after the breakfast and after the second Easter worship service.

Ridge Community Church, former Walmart building on Highway 100 and Layton Avenue, will have their first service on Easter at 10:30 a.m. As many as 30 construction workers have been busy renovating the inside of the former Walmart, converting the big-box retail story into a spacious and inviting place of worship. The church, once completed, will have a 600-plus-seat auditorium, a large reception area, several rooms for children of all ages, office space for church staff and much more.

St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8500 West Cold Spring Rd., 7:30 p.m. Easter Vigil on Saturday; Easter mass at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday.
