Portions of Interstate Will be Shut Down Overnight

Those heading east and west through Greenfield on the Interstate tonight will be affected.

Commuters beware: there will be two major overnight freeway closures, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced Tuesday afternoon.

Interstate-94 west from Edgerton Avenue to Howard Avenue is scheduled to fully close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and I-43/894 eastbound from Loomis Road to the Mitchell Interchange is scheduled to fully close from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The full freeway closure on I-43/894 eastbound is needed for repairing pot holes, while the full closure on I-94 west is required to carry out a traffic switch on I-43/94. The northbound I-43/94 lanes will be moved east of the current location as part of this switch between the Mitchell Interchange and Howard Avenue.
