Sinkhole Opens up at Busy Intersection
The location is a trouble spot, according to Greenfield DPW Superintendent Dan Ewert.
A large sinkhole has forced the to put up barricades near a busy city intersection.
The sinkhole, on the southwest corner of 43rd Street and Edgerton Avenue, is approximately six feet long, two feet wide and as much as two feet deep in some areas.
It is off to the side of the road and 43rd Street is still open to traffic, though there is a gap of a few inches between the edge of the asphalt and the gravel underneath it in some places.
