Haven's mother, Erin, is a biology teacher at Chapparal High School in Denver. Organizers Kathryn Pluer of Greendale and local Roots Salon owners Shannon Lopez and Naomi Prusinski are longtime friends with Erin. All four women graduated from Whitnall High School in 1995.

"The passion created by this event fueled two amazing accomplishments a Guinness World Record and reaching a $50,000 fundraising goal," Lopez said. "In a time where we are constantly reminded of the sadness in the world this event showed me amazing courage and generosity that I will be forever grateful to have experienced."

Twenty-two teachers and staff at Erin’s school shaved their heads in the first Shavin' for Haven, which raised more than $22,000. Shortly after Haven was diagnosed in April her father lost his job, according to a 9News report.

Half of the proceeds raised are going to Haven and the other half will go to CureSearch.

CureSearch for Children's Cancer is a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support children's cancer research and provide information and resources to all those affected by children's cancer.

Pluer said CureSearch had been really helpful to Haven and her family.

The stylists included Sami Teronde, Jeanette Schneider, Lara Huber, Ciara Ott, Nicky Bembenek, Becky Gbur, Jocelyn Wabiszewski, Heather Rodis, Elle Clements and Alicia LaChance

Authorized witnesses documented every head shaving, and all volunteers who had their heads shaved will be listed at the World Record Shave website, according to Beauty Store Business Magazine.
