Annual Whitnall Block Party is Saturday

The Whitnall Block Party, the district’s annual gathering and back-to-school showcase event, is back for a fourth year this weekend.

The party, on 116th Street in Greenfield between the Whitnall high and middle schools, is from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.

The bash includes food vendors and activities for kids of all ages, including inflatable bounce houses and much more.

There will also be live entertainment beginning at 3 p.m. with the Whitnall High School marching band. Following the band is Red 22, a band made up of Whitnall students, at 3:30 p.m. and a special sneak peak of the high school’s fall drama club’s production at 4:25 p.m.

The headlining act at 5:30 p.m., Saturday Detention, is a band made up of Whitnall teachers and administrators.

The block party is free for all to attend and serves as a fundraiser for the district’s fine arts programs.
