Come Play in the Clouds; Skydive Weather is on the Radar

Warm weather is leaving many people anxious for fun summer activities.

Skydiving season is just around the corner, leaving skydivers eager to fill their veins with adrenaline.

“Skydiving is something I think everyone should try at least once. After you do something so crazy it changes your perspective on life. It is very rewarding,” said one skydiver from Skydive Midwest.

Skydive Midwest will host Safety Day on Friday, April 5, and open officially for the 2013 season on Saturday, April 6.

Skydive Midwest hosts many fun events throughout the summer, including many fundraisers, such as Tandems For Troops and Jump For Autism.

After an enjoyable long day at the Drop Zone, you can feel free to kick back next to the bonfire, grill out, and get to know other skydivers around the area.

“Skydivers, and other extreme sports enthusiasts often have a reputation of being reckless and careless, but in reality that is not the case at all," another skydiver said. "We take what we do seriously and are always evaluating the different risks for each jump."

With modern skydiving technology and the use of an automatic activation device, the sport is a lot safer then most may think. According to the United States Parachute Association, out of the 3.1 million skydives in the U.S. in 2012, only 19 of those skydives ended in a fatality. You are more likely to die in a car accident on your way to the Drop Zone, then you are when you are skydiving.

With hot weather on its way come catch a cool breeze and beautiful views of Milwaukee, Racine, and Chicago from 15,000 feet at Skydive Midwest.
