Get Out: Love is in the Air With Wine Tasting and Ice Sculpting

It's already Thursday again and time to start plotting out your weekend.

Here are a few things to do in the area.

Where/When: Polish Center of Wisconsin, 6941 S. 68th St./Friday, 6-9 p.m.

Why Go: After a long hard week, who couldn't use a glass of wine? Looking for more? Chocolatiers Forever Chocolate and Candy Bouquet will be offering samples of their confections. And if that's not enough, the proceeds from the event will fund global clean water projects.

2. Bucks Bowl for the Cure

Where/When: AMF Bowlero Lanes, 11737 W. Burleigh St., Milwaukee/Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Your entry fee not only goes to a good cause - the Susan G. Komen for the Cure - but it includes two games of bowling, shoe rental, a T-shirt, gift bag and two upper level tickets for a future Milwaukee Bucks Game. Sign up ASAP; spots are filling up.

Pricing: The entry fee is $30 per person.

Where/When: Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park/Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: With more thanΒ 700 booth spaces, you're bound to find solutions to your indoor and outdoor home and landscaping needs. Go get some ideas for your spring projects, or tackle an indoor wintertime project now with help you'll get from the show.

Pricing: $6 in advance; $8 at the door Thursday and Friday; $10 at the door Saturday and Sunday; children 12 and under are free.

Where/When: /Saturday, noon

Why Go: The Fiore Sisters will treat you to a cabaret-style show featuring songs from classic movies and Broadway musicals. Enjoy the great food, get the great music as a bonus.

Pricing: $24.95, includes the show and food from the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet.

Where/When: Up and down Broad Street in Greendale/Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: See professional and amateur sculptors take their hammers and chisels and create ice masterpieces in this fun-filled event. The ice sculpting is just one of many activities going on as part of "I Left My Heart On Broad Street," a Village of Greendale Valentine Event, which runs all day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
