Greenfield Pick 'n Save's Grand Opening Set

After months of construction, the grocery store will open later this month.

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. announced Greenfield's new Pick 'n Save, 4279 S. 76th Street, will be open for retail business at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16.

In anticipation of the opening, there will be a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15.

The celebration is open to the public. Attendees will get a preview of the store, and there will be special events such as food sampling, prize giveaways, and children's activities, including face-painting and an appearance by the Honey Nut Cheerios bee.

The ribbon cutting will take place at 6 p.m.

Construction crews were out paving the parking lot Wednesday morning.

Roundy's sent out postcard-style invitations by mail to many Greenfield residents this week.

Sentry, Ponderosa and Popeye's Chicken were all cleared to make way for the new 81,700-square-foot Pick 'n Save, according to BizTimes.com.

The store will replace the across the street at 4200 S. 76th Street in . No plans to fill that future vacancy have been made.
