Greenfield Target to Offer More Groceries in July

Remodel will expand the fresh grocery options available at the store.

Greenfield shoppers will have another big box where they can purchase groceries after the end of July when the city's Target store remodeling is complete.
The remodeling of the Target, 4777 S. 27th St., involves an expansion of the grocery section where more fresh food such as fruit, vegetables and packaged meats will be offered. Shoppers will also find more dry grocery, dairy and frozen foods in the store's grocery aisles, according to a Target spokesperson and the corporate Web site.
“We heard from our guests that they wanted more fresh food options in the convenience of their local Target store,” said Annette Miller, senior vice president of grocery, in a recent press release. “Our guests lead busy lives, and with the increased food selection, we’ve made it easy to complete their grocery list or pick up tonight’s dinner during their regular Target shopping trip.”
The store will remain open during the remodeling. As the store goes through the remodeling, employees will be available to assist shoppers in finding items, according to the spokesperson. The store is expect to hold a grand-opening event on July 24.
The Greenfield Target's beauty, home and shoe departments will also be revamped, the spokesperson said. The Target, however, will not increase the number of check-out lanes.
The store hired 50 employees because of the remodel. The store now has 173 employees, according to the spokesperson.
About 380 Target stores nationwide will go through the expanded food layout remodeling. Twenty new stores will open this year with the expanded food layout.
