Halloween Express Finds Temporary Home on Highway 100

Halloween Express is open on Highway 100 in Greenfield in the former Walmart building.

Halloween Express, the national temporary retail chain that caters to the second-largest commercial holiday behind only Christmas, has opened on Highway 100 in Greenfield.

The store, one of 16 in Wisconsin, is temporarily using space in the former Walmart building, 4500 S. 108th St., now owned by The Ridge Community Church.

The store, which sells Halloween costumes and much more, is leasing about 5,000 square feet of the portion of the former Walmart not used by The Ridge.

The store opened late last month and is expected to remain open until the end of October. Customers can enter the store on the northwest side of the building.

The Highway 100 opening fills a Halloween costume void created when two former buildings used last year for temporary stores were occupied by permanent tenants.

Halloween City was open last fall at 6102 W. Layton Avenue, the location now filled by Board Game Barrister. A Halloween Express was also open in the area last fall, in the Borders-turned-DSW building on 76th Street by Southridge Mall in Greendale.

Halloween Express used to be located at 4251 S. 27th St. before owner Jon Majdoch turned that warehouse space into Lightspeed, which features indoor electric go-karts and lasertag.
