Pawn Store Hopes to Move Into Greenfield This Fall

The city will hold a public hearing to discuss the request June 21.

Rixmann Companies of Burnsville, Minn., wants to open an Exchange Street pawn shop in the building that once housed popular Circuit City and the short-lived Ultimate Electronics, according to a story in The Business Journal.

Greenfield Patch , at which Rixmann director of community affairs Chuck Armstrong express his company's desire to move into the 40,000-square-foot building.

According to The Business Journal story, Rixmann operates a chain of shops known as Pawn America. Exchange Street differs from Pawn America in that it would be a larger store with a focus on family shopping, the story said.

There will be public hearing about the proposal June 21 before the Greenfield Common Council meets to discuss it and other matters.
