Temporary Seasonal Jobs Becoming Available

Two major companies announce the anticipated hiring of thousands of part-time workers.

With unemployment rates mostly murky, and the holiday shopping season just around the corner, job-seekers got a bit of good news about the temporary employment market in recent days.

On Tuesday, Kohl's announced it was adding 40,000 seasonal jobs, very similar to what the company did a year ago. According to AOL.com, Kohl's hired an average of 35 employees at each department store across the country in 2011.

There are three Kohl's stores just outside of Greenfield: Southridge Mall; 2601 S. 108th Street, West Allis; and 3737 S. 27th Street, Milwaukee.

The AOL story said Kohl's is the latest in a string of retailers to announce hiring plans for the holiday season. Last month, Macy's and Toys R Us said they each planned to hire tens of thousands of seasonal workers.

In addition, Target recently announced it would be hiring 92,000 seasonal employees, a 4 percent hike over last year's seasonal hires, according to The Kansas City Star.
