Want to be First on Black Friday? You're Too Late

Lines have already begun to form outside Best Buy in Greenfield.

Think you're going to be first in line at Best Buy on Black Friday? Think again.

Customers have already set up six tents, as of Wednesday afternoon, near the store's west entrance in anticipation of Black Friday deals. The store opens at 2 p.m.

Among those in line are Joe Butschli of Greenfield and his brother John Butschli of Appleton, whom Patch interviewed last November. They told TMJ4 and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel they have been camped out at Best Buy since Sunday and started the tradition four or five years ago.

Greenfield police officers will once again be out on Black Friday, according to the department's Facebook page:

Operation Candy Cane II. Officers will be out Thursday night delivering candy canes and hot coffee to shoppers waiting in line for Black Friday deals.

And while you won't be first in line at Best Buy, there are still great deals to be had both on Thanksgiving and in the days after.
