Whitnall Falcon Football Review: From a Fan's Perspective

The 2012 Whitnall High School football season was a memorable one for many fans, including this blog writer.

The Whitnall football season came to an end Friday as the Falcons fell to top-seeded Wisconsin Lutheran, 63-28, in front of a packed Falcon fan base.

The loss concluded a fantastic season for the Falcons, who took the conference title for the first time in 12 years. The high-powered offense, brand new stadium, and the surprising success all contributed to this being one of the most enjoyable seasons for the Falcon fans.

Every Friday night, students would pack the bleachers to watch their exciting Falcons. Even at away games the Falcon student section would fill the stadium and even often outnumber the opposing crowd.

Furthermore, every game the students would all dress for a certain theme, such as Blackout, Toga Night, and Nerd Night. No matter how ridiculous the theme, everyone always participated.

Senior fanatics led the raucous crowd every Friday night in numerous chants and cheers. The seniors also led the halftime traditions such as the rollercoaster and rowboat. Regardless of the score, fans would remain standing throughout the entire game, always cheering on their exciting Falcons.

“I have a true love for these Falcons,” said senior Mitchell Molbeck, who attended every game and is a true Falcon fanatic.

Junior Josh Damro added, “It was just such an exciting season.”

And it certainly was. The Falcons’ outstanding success and record-setting offense made this season undoubtedly one of the most entertaining seasons for the Whitnall Falcon Fan base.
