Wetlands Runoff Flows Through Greenfield Neighborhood

When it rains like it has this week, it looks like a stream separates yards on 122nd Street.

Homeowners in a Greenfield neighborhood on the city's west side say they've been dealing with rain runoff saturating their yards for years.

And they believe it's gotten worse.

Linda Prodoehl and her husband live at 4201 S. 122nd St., and their backyard is adjacent to a small wooded wetland area. When it rains like it has the last few days, runoff from the wetlands builds up in the backyard and flows all the way to a ditch in the front yard, right between the Prodoehls' home and their neighbors to the south.
