Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center Pet of the Week: Evelyn

This pretty girl is looking for her forever home!

This beauty is one of nineteen cats transferred to Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center from Vilas County Humane Society, a shelter in northern Wisconsin. The Center partners with animal control agencies and humane societies throughout the state to assist animals in critical need of placement, so when we heard that our friends at Vilas County were in desperate need of help, we packed up our transport team and headed north with the intention of bringing seven to ten cats back to the Center for care and placement. Nineteen cats and kittens later, we started the trek back to Milwaukee.

(Watch our YouTube video about the transfer.)

Evelyn is one of our new buddies from Vilas County, and she, like all the new kids, is incredible! At just one year old, she's got tons of playful energy but she settles down nicely for a snuggle with our volunteer socializers. Her favorite toy is a little plastic spring - she carries it around in her mouth like a dog and bats it from every corner of the playroom. Evelyn is very sweet and social - she was previously housed with cats and plays well with others. She's an easy-going girl and will do well in most homes with a proper introduction and acclimation period.
