Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center Pet of the Week: Murphy

Murphy needs your love!

Murphy was our pet of the week back in January, and we can't believe he's STILL looking for a family!

This boy is really somthing special. He recently moved into the blue room at the Center - the cage-free socializing room - and he's loving every minute of it. Murphy loves hanging with the lady cats in there (he loves hanging with any cat, really) and can often be found trying to get someone to chase him. His all-time favorite toy is his red tunnel. He dive bombs it from across the room and shoots through, triumphantly exiting on the other side, beaming with pride. He kicks that tunnel around, bites the strings on the end, hides from the other cats and - BAM! - when you least expect it, emerges from the end and springs into action. He's better than television, this kid.

When Murphy arrived at the Center, he was on a prescription diet to maintain bladder health. We've been able to get him off that prescription food and onto the regular Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center kitty diet. (Purina Pro Plan adult, salmon and rice - we're always in need of donations!)

Murphy owns every heart at the Center. Maybe the next heart he can steal is yours.

Those interested in potential adoption should plan to arrive at the Center at least 30 minutes prior to close so the adoption counselor has adequate time to devote to the visit.

UPDATE: Milton chose a family! Seniors, special needs pets, pit bull type dogs, black cats and dogs - all of these animals are often deemed "less adoptable," but Milton is proof that there is a home for everyone. Congrats on your new family, sweet old man.
