MARC Pets of the Week: Morgan and Miranda

Just in time for Valentine's Day, we have a heartwarming story of two perfectly lovely girls.

You might remember Morgan from her previous blog post, but boy have things been looking up for this girl! After spending nearly 16 months in a cage at a rural Wisconsin shelter, Morgan was transferred to our care and began working with our socializing team. Progress was slow but steady and we were confident she would blossom into a lovely girl with the right amount of patience and guidance. Then, along came Miranda...

Miranda is a super fun and playful kitten. She absolutely adores running on the cat wheel (think giant hamster wheel for kitties) and bounding around on climbers and cat trees. When Miranda joined Morgan in the cage-free cat room at the Center, we were amazed at their instant connection! These girls snuggle together, play together, and groom each other - they are totally bonded, and they formed that bond instantly. Miranda was just what Morgan needed to gain some confidence and really start coming out of her shell. We couldn't be more pleased with her progress! Miranda came to us with three siblings. They've all found loving, forever homes - now it's time for Morgan and Miranda to find theirs.

These girls require placement together. When we see two animals choose each other like these two have, we do everything we can to keep them together for life. Not only will Miranda continue to guide Morgan down a path to confidence, she'll also help her acclimate more easily to her new home. Their ideal home will welcome them as the only pets and be willing to give Morgan the space and patience she will need to become comfortable with her people. We can't say enough about these girls. They have a truly special story and will make the perfect pets for the right family. One thing is for certain - we will definitely miss watching these girls snuggle and love each other!
